9-Step Process
Each tire endures a grueling 9-step process before it earns the right to be called a Michelin® Retread. From the casing’s arrival to its final hand inspection, each retreaded tire must conform to our demanding quality requirements before it earns the Michelin stamp of approval.
Advanced X-Ray System
At Michelin, our advanced X-ray system reveals the condition of the steel belts and casing cables. It can identify run-flat fatigue and road hazard damage as well as verify the condition of previous repairs, eliminating guess work and saving you time and money.
Casing Integrity Analyzer® (CIA)
Michelin’s exclusive Casing Integrity Analyzer®(CIA) uses laser beam photography to detect hidden separations in the casing. 100% of all casings are inspected with proprietary Automatic Casing Evaluation®(ACE) software to provide visual indicators of hidden damage. These images are printed and available to the fleet. CIA technology helps keep damaged casings out of service, saving you downtime and money.
Computer-Controlled Buffing System
At Michelin, buffing is one area where automation is synonymous with innovation. Our computer- controlled, customizable system means your retreads are prepared with machined precision, producing an exceptional bonding layer with monitored and controlled undertread for the new retread.
